Heartopia is a cozy multiplayer life simulation game where players build their dream town, cultivate relationships with friendly NPCs, and explore a vibrant world filled with fishing, farming, crafting, cooking, and adventure. This wiki is the largest fan-maintained database for the game, with comprehensive coverage of every fish, recipe, character, pet, region, and mechanic.
Heartopia blends the relaxing pace of farm-life games with the social depth of an MMO. On any given in-game day you can be doing any combination of: fishing at one of 9 different regions, growing 32 types of crops across 4 seasons, cooking 100+ recipes for profit, raising one of 30+ NPCs to max affinity, decorating your home with 400+ furniture pieces, breeding 28 flower colors through cross-pollination, raising a pet that bonds with your daily activities, and exploring seasonal events that run 8-12 weeks at a time.
The game's day cycle runs 18 in-game hours (about 22 real minutes), with 4 AM being the save point. Each season lasts 28 in-game days (about 10 real hours), so a full year is approximately 40 real hours of play. This pacing is intentional - the game rewards consistent daily play rather than marathon sessions, and many of the best rewards (legendary fish, max NPC affinity, endgame cooking) require multi-day setups rather than single-session grinds.
Gold is the primary currency. The fastest ways to earn gold scale with your Dream Gardener (DG) level, which is the game's main progression track. At DG 1-5 you can earn 500-1000 gold per hour by selling common fish raw. By DG 6-10 you should switch to cooking jam recipes for 1000-3000 gold per hour. At DG 11-15 the meta shifts to advanced dishes (grilled, soups, Asian cuisine) for 3000-6000 gold per hour. Endgame (DG 16+) players combine legendary fish selling with Sushi Platter and Truffle Pasta cooking for 6000-10000+ gold per hour.
Gems are the premium currency but are earnable in-game at about 50-100 per week through daily quests, season pass, and event rewards. Most players never need to spend real money. The two exceptions where the season pass is worth the purchase are: (1) the cosmetic-limited-time items you cannot earn otherwise, and (2) the doubled daily login rewards which give roughly 2000 extra gold over the 4-week pass duration.
The four in-game seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) each bring 2-3 new fish species, 4-6 new crops, and a major seasonal event. Spring is the season of flowers and the legendary Sakura Koi. Summer brings ocean fishing and the Oceanbound event. Autumn is harvest season with the highest single-harvest crop profits. Winter is the cozy festival season with hot drinks, indoor cooking, and the legendary Snow Carp.
Weather affects fish spawn rates significantly. Rain increases legendary fish spawn rate by 300%. Sunny weather favors common fish. Stormy weather (rare, 5% chance per day) guarantees at least one epic catch. The in-game weather forecast is shown every morning and is 90% accurate. Time of day matters too: many legendary fish only spawn at dawn (5-7 AM) or night (8 PM-2 AM). Plan your fishing sessions around the forecast and time.
Up to 8 players can visit each other's towns at once. You can co-op cook, trade items, host seasonal festivals, and complete group quests together. The trading system lets you set up a personal shop with prices you choose. Cross-play between PC, iOS, and Android is fully supported with the same account. Cross-server trading was the #1 most-requested feature in our 2026 community survey (78% of respondents supported it) and is expected to ship in v2.8.
